FirstSolar emerges as the lowest bidder(Rs. 5.25/kWh and Rs. 5. 350/kWh for 40 MW projects each) towards allocation of 500 MW of solar projects in Andhra Pradesh. A total of 49 qualified bidders bid for 63 projects with a total quoted capacity of 1291 MW. The “First Year Quoted Tariff” distribution is given below.
(Please note that there is a 3% escalation of tariff from the second year till the 10th year, after which the tariff will remain the same for the rest of the PPA duration without any further escalation)
Welspun Renewables(345 MW), ACME Cleantech(160 MW) and SunEdison(90 MW) are the top bidders in terms of capacity. (The bid document says that “a company may submit Bids for any number of projects at multiple Districts subject to a maximum Aggregate Bid Capacity of 100 MW all together”). The developer-wise bids are given below.
Anantapur was the most preferred location, with a total of 580 MW bid capacity.

given favourable tariffs, would you believe AP will accept entire 12xxMW bids and save itself another round of tenders, though some modifications on basic PPA terms.
Accepting all the bids is a good suggestion under the given conditions, but no idea if they are moving along these lines.
even if all the bids are accepted for execution, in district Anantapur the available capacity of sub-station needs to be upgraded.
