India has made huge strides in the solar sector in the last 3 years and crossed the 1 GW installations landmark in June 2012. More than 70% of the projects were under the Gujarat state policy and most of the remaining projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission(JNNSM). The total number of projects come close to 200.
The MNRE and Gujarat has been doing a great job in updating the commissioning status of these projects and they have also started sharing the plant performance data(energy generation). The data provided by MNRE and Gujarat has the list of project developers, size of the project and location but it does not have other useful information like type of module technology used(crystalline Silicon vs Thin Film), type of inverter(Central vs String) or their makes, the EPC contractor, etc. Some of the large project developers have shared these information in their press releases or in their websites but most of the data is scattered and it is quite a tedious task to compile them all and put in one place.
We at RESolve went through that process of compiling the details and realised that it is a huge task but one which will benefit the industry in benchmarking the solar projects. That is when we hit upon the idea of sharing our work with the stakeholders and getting inputs from all of you(in other words – crowdsourcing). We see this as a project of the solar sector, by the sector and for the sector.
If you have the information which can be used in the database and are willing to share for this project, please do so by sending an email to giridaran@re-solve.in. We will acknowledge your inputs in the database, unless you would like to remain anonymous. We plan to update the database at regular intervals. Please point out any errors in the compilation so that those can be rectified.
Since this is a collaborative effort, anyone can download the database. No strings attached.
Look forward to your feedback. The compilation we have done so far(upto October 2012) is given below. If you are unable to view the list properly, you can access the database it in Google Drive here.

Why not add items like
1. Av. Solar radiation at site
2 Expected and Actual yearly output in kWh
3 CUF or plant factor.
4.FiT duration of contract electricity sold to whom.
5. Must at least allow people to make comments which will facilitate quick update!
Best Wishes for your good great effort. Thank you
