In the latest data on solar plant performance released by MNRE, a majority of the plants have shown a marginal dip in generation in December 2013 compared to the previous month. The dip can be attributed to reduced irradiation levels. (As per meteonorm data for Phalodi in Rajasthan, the irradiation level is the lowest during the month of December, and can be half of the peak irradiation levels which typically occurs in the month of May)
For the first time, the performance data of the only large scale CSP plant commissioned in the country(Godawari Green Energy Limited – 50 MW) has also been released. The CUF for the CSP plant stood at 9.99% for December 2013. As a reference, the annual benchmark CUF for CSP plants set by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commision(CERC) is 23%.
