Solar – MNRE proposes to set up 20 GW of Solar Parks in 5 years

Replicate Gujarat’s “Charanka Solar Park ” model across the country -this is the new direction that Ministry of New and Renewable Energy(MNRE) has chosen to take. The draft scheme for development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega power projects released yesterday proposes to set up 25 solar parks, each with capacity of 500 MW to 1000 MW.

Delhi – Regulations on Net Metering for Renewable Energy notified by DERC

After some false starts, Delhi now officially has a net metering regulation. The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission(DERC) has released the notification formalizing net-metering in Delhi. It may be recalled that the previous version of Delhi’s net-metering policy was scrapped in February 2012, citing loopholes and possibilities of scams(More here). Karnataka Solar – KERC orders exemption of Wheeling, Banking and Cross-subsidy charges for 10 Years
