The anticipated power requirement for Punjab for the year 2012-13 was 48,881 Million Units(MUs) or Million kWh, whereas the availability was anticipated at 39,918 MUs, which translates to an annual deficit of about 18.3%( Source: Central Electricity Authority-CEA).
